How accurate is the receipt scanning?
ShopIQ uses Google Gemini AI to read receipts. A clear, complete photo gives it the best chance of getting every line right. It handles different store layouts, currencies, and printed discount lines; when it is unsure, it flags the line so you can review it instead of quietly guessing.
Does ShopIQ track expiration dates?
Yes. ShopIQ estimates shelf life from the product type and purchase date, then can notify you when something may need using soon. It is a useful nudge, not a replacement for the date on the package. Saved Dishes can also show what you can cook from what is on hand.
Can I share my pantry with my family?
Yes. Every family member gets their own sign-in, and everyone sees the same inventory, shopping list, and spending data — no more duplicate buying or forgotten items.
What stores does ShopIQ work with?
ShopIQ is built for ordinary grocery receipts from any store. A clear photo with the items and total visible is the best starting point. Store layouts vary, so the first receipt may need a quick review; familiar stores get easier as ShopIQ learns your household's history.
Does ShopIQ work with online grocery orders?
You can upload a screenshot of an online order confirmation when it shows the item lines and total. ShopIQ will read it like a receipt; unusual layouts or missing details may need a quick review.
How is my data stored?
Your household's receipts, pantry, shopping list, and Assistant history are kept in private app storage. We use encryption in transit and at rest, and we do not sell your grocery data. Read the Privacy Policy for the full picture, including the providers that help run ShopIQ.
Is there an app or only a website?
ShopIQ is a web app that works on phone, tablet, and desktop. You can install it to your home screen as a Progressive Web App. Your shopping list stays useful when reception drops and syncs again when you are back online; receipt scanning needs a connection.
Does ShopIQ work with non-English receipts?
Yes. ShopIQ is designed for receipts in English, Hebrew, and Arabic, and its dashboard is available in English, Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish, and Russian. As with any receipt, a clear photo and readable print make the biggest difference.
How is the shopping list generated?
ShopIQ suggests items that are running low, may need replacing soon, or are due for a regular restock. You stay in control: accept, dismiss, or add anything yourself, then share one list with the people doing the shopping.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. You can manage or cancel a paid plan from the billing link in Settings. If you downgrade, your household records stay with you; access to paid Assistant features changes with the plan.
