Is ShopIQ free?
Yes, ShopIQ has a free tier that includes the dashboard, inventory tracking, shopping list, and spending analytics. The AI receipt scanner is available as a one-time trial for free users (10 messages, including 3 photos). Paid plans (Pro $7/mo for ~40 scans a month, Power $12/mo for ~180) unlock full AI scanning.
How accurate is the receipt scanning?
ShopIQ uses Google Gemini AI to read receipts. It handles multiple store formats, discount lines, and different currencies. The AI learns each store's format over time — the more you scan, the sharper it gets. Low-confidence items are flagged for review.
Does ShopIQ track expiration dates?
Yes. ShopIQ tracks shelf life based on product category and purchase date. It shows estimated days remaining for each item and can send notifications when things are about to expire. The Dishes feature also shows which of your saved recipes you can cook from what's on hand.
Can I share my pantry with my family?
Yes. Every family member gets their own sign-in, and everyone sees the same inventory, shopping list, and spending data — no more duplicate buying or forgotten items.
What stores does ShopIQ work with?
ShopIQ works with any grocery store. It learns each store's receipt format automatically. Supported stores include Fred Meyer, Costco, Trader Joe's, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Safeway, and all major US chains. The more you scan, the better it gets.
Does ShopIQ work with online grocery orders?
Yes. Screenshot your online order confirmation — Instacart, Amazon Fresh, Walmart Grocery, or any store that sends one — and share it with the AI Assistant. It's processed just like a photographed paper receipt.
How is my data stored?
Your data is stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL) on EU servers. We use encryption in transit and at rest. Receipt images are stored in private cloud storage. See our privacy policy for full details.
Is there an app or only a website?
ShopIQ is a web app (goshopiq.com) that works on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop. It's a Progressive Web App (PWA), so you can install it to your home screen for a native-app experience with offline support.
Does ShopIQ work with non-English receipts?
Yes. ShopIQ supports receipts in English, Hebrew, and Arabic natively. The dashboard UI is available in English, Hebrew, and Arabic, with Spanish and Russian on the way.
How is the shopping list generated?
ShopIQ analyzes your consumption patterns and suggests items that are running low, expiring soon, or due for restock. You can also add items manually or use AI chat to build a list. Suggestions are grouped by store for efficient shopping trips.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. All paid plans cancel anytime with no penalties — manage your subscription from the Lemon Squeezy billing portal linked in your receipt email. Downgrading keeps your data; you just lose access to AI scanning.
